Key Person: Ray Gardner

Currently Chairman of the Chinook Tribal Council, Ray Gardner has been a member of the tribal council for several years. He has been involved with the Confluence Project, especially in working with schools through the program Confluence in the Schools.

The Chinook people have been challenged for years by the lack of federal recognition for their tribe. Gardner has been active in working for this federal recognition, especially on legislation sponsored by Congressman Brian Baird.
