Comparing Ecosystems

While at Cape Disappointment, students make comparisons between the coastlines of the bay and the beach. Note differences in the substrate, such as sandy and rocky areas. Look for physical characteristics, such as big and small waves, and the differences between high and low water lines. Look for different plants and evidence of animals that form communities within each environment. Develop a hypothesis that would explain the differences they find between these two ecosystems.
