Welcome to the Confluence Project Journey Book
Through art and place, the Confluence Project strives to increase awareness of how we treat each other and the Earth, with a strong, positive emphasis on envisioning the future–for the next seven generations and beyond. We draw on the emotional power of art as a catalyst to inspire the future preservation of our cultural and natural resources.
From the start, the Confluence Project has engaged communities along the Columbia River Basin, working with leaders in each of its six site communities to create connections with Maya Lin’s artworks. Projects have also helped forge new bonds between local and regional groups to benefit the entire region.
This on-line Journey Book offers a way to explore project sites in depth — each site is its own journey through time and artistic imagination. Our hope is that visitors will then have
a new look at their own place and community, and become even more engaged in their community’s past, present
and future.
Journey Book is an immersive exploration of the People, Places and Art of the Confluence Project that is designed to be experienced through a Flash-enabled browser. For the best experience, please revisit the site from a Flash-enabled computer.
